Fifth highest satisfaction rating in the country!
Last summer South Derbyshire District Council’s Housing Department made the news with the fifth highest satisfaction rating in the country as 89% of the District’s Council tenants said they were satisfied with the services provided by the Housing Department.
Now the Cabinet Office has awarded the Housing Department its Chartermark in recognition of its excellent customer service.
In his judgment of the service the Chartermark assessor said, "Housing has excellent staff who are committed, professional and dedicated to providing a high quality service." He went on to say that the Housing Department has “a good range of partnerships that are playing a major part in improving the life experiences of our customers" and that there was " inspirational management" and a "can do" culture in customer service.
Cllr John Lemmon, Chairman of South Derbyshire’s Housing and Community Services Committee said, “It is a wonderful reflection of the hard work of all the staff in the Housing Department that they have had national recognition twice in six months. Many people don’t understand the variety of work that Housing Services does. For example, Housing’s Careline department also offers a range of telecare solutions to all residents in South Derbyshire, not just tenants, to enable them to remain in their own homes for longer, through the use of supportive technologies. This is a fine example of working in partnership, in this case with Derbyshire County Council, to improve the quality of life for all residents in South Derbyshire.”
Photocall to be held at the Civic Offices in Swadlincote.
